Embodying purity, enlightenment and faithfulness, the lotus flower gains a deeper significance when of a particular colour, for it then symbolizes different aspects of spirituality. The Blue Lotus flower has had a deep symbolism in both Egyptian and Buddhist cultures throughout the ages. In the former it signified the Sun, Creation and rebirth while in the latter it’s associated with a capability of overcoming the self and thus empowering the spirit.
It defines a person’s control over his mind and spirit, his ability to let go of material aspirations in life and be in a perpetual pursuit of wisdom on the path of Enlightenment. It thus signifies a constant yen for wisdom and knowledge and stands for victory over the senses.
The Blue Lotus flower is associated with the Bodhisatva Manjusri, the embodiment of transcendent wisdom. It has long been regarded as truly sacred and is held to be a symbol of the Universe itself.
